Terms of Service
Last updated 9 August 2026.
1. What this service is
CodeKudo collects public discussion from sources such as Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Product Hunt and the App Store, turns it into structured demand signals, and produces product specifications from those signals. It also generates counter-evidence — reasons an idea is likely to fail.
It is a research and drafting tool, not advice. Nothing here is legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and no output should be treated as a prediction. Whether a business works depends on execution, timing and market conditions that no dataset captures.
2. What we do not promise
- No exclusivity by default. Ideas are visible to every member. The saturation counters on each idea page show how many people have viewed it and generated a spec from it — this is deliberate, and you should assume others are looking at the same thing. A paid idea lock, where offered, reserves an idea for 90 days within CodeKudo only; it has no effect outside this service.
- No accuracy guarantee. Signals come from third-party platforms. People exaggerate, posts get deleted, and revenue figures reported by third parties may be wrong. We show source links so you can check.
- No guarantee that generated code works. We produce specifications. The build platforms that consume them are not ours.
- No claim of originality. An idea surfaced here may already be in the market, and often is — that is what the competitor and counter-evidence sections are for.
3. Accounts
One account per person. Do not share credentials — accounts showing use from many unrelated locations may be suspended. Team plans exist for shared use. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Credits
Actions that call an AI model cost credits. Prices are listed on the pricing page and shown again in the interface before you spend them.
- Plan credits are an allowance and do not roll over. They reset at the start of each billing cycle. This is stated at purchase and is the reason plan pricing is what it is.
- Top-up credits never expire and are held separately. Plan credits are always spent first.
- If an action fails on our side, the credits for it are refunded automatically.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts or redeemed for money.
5. Lifetime access
“Lifetime” means for the operational life of this service, with no recurring platform fee. It includes the credits stated at purchase; further usage beyond that requires top-ups or your own API key. If the service is ever discontinued, we will give at least 60 days' notice and a full export of your specs and data.
Founding seats are numbered and permanent. The price moving to a higher tier after you buy does not affect your seat, and it never moves back down.
6. Your own API key
If you connect your own provider key, generations run on your account and are billed to you by that provider. We do not mark up or intermediate that spend, and we do not deduct credits for those generations. You remain bound by your provider's terms. See Privacy for how the key is stored.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, bulk-export or resell the idea database or evidence records.
- Do not resell generated specs as a competing idea-database product.
- Do not attempt to bypass credit accounting, rate limits, or the paywall.
- Do not use the service to build anything unlawful, or to target or harass specific individuals.
Specs you generate are yours. Build with them, publish them, use them commercially — that is what they are for. The restriction is on redistributing our database and evidence layer, not on your product.
8. Third-party content
Excerpts from source platforms are shown in short attributed quotes with a link to the original, under fair use / fair dealing for research and commentary. We do not republish other platforms' content wholesale. If you own content quoted here and want it removed, email us and we will remove it.
9. Availability and changes
We may change features, prices for new purchases, and model choices. Existing lifetime seats and in-force subscription terms are not repriced. AI generation may be paused briefly if a platform cost cap is reached; when that happens the interface says so instead of failing silently, and no credits are consumed.
10. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business opportunities, or decisions made on the basis of output from this service.
11. Termination
You can cancel a subscription or close your account at any time from settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; see Cancellation for exactly what happens to access and credits. We may suspend accounts that breach section 7, and where the breach is not deliberate we will contact you first.
